I just wanted to drop a quick message to let you know the last rulebooks, as mentioned in the previous update, are now complete. All of them can be viewed on our website. (See sidebar menu.) We highly encourage you to take the opportunity to check through them and point out any issues you might see. We will hold from submitting the files for a week. If you do find any errors or have any questions, please visit our discord server where we have a proofreading channel to report what you find. A full regular update will come at the end of the month. Thanks!
July Update: Home Stretch

Rule Book Progress
As mentioned in last month's update, we've been doing a lot of work enhancing the rule booklets. We now have 8 of the 9 characters completely done and just some final artwork to put on the last one. We have gone over the books repeatedly to make things as clear and consistent as possible. We've posted the rulebooks on our website for you to take a look at.
We'd love for you to look through them. Melaina should be finished within the week, shortly followed by the general rule books. If you read through the books and encounter any mistakes that slipped through the cracks, or anything that isn't clear, we have created a #proofreading channel on our discord server to drop comments.
We're sorry for the delay the rule booklets have caused, but we honestly feel that the change has been for the better.
Digital Updates
Last month we reported four patterns had been sent out for testing. All four have been tested successfully now and they're looking good. The fifth pattern has been sent out while we finish work on the final one. Midori's ears are proving a little more complicated compared to the rest of the characters and we want to be sure the steps can be followed easily. We've been taking a lot of pictures to provide as much visual aid as might be needed.
Tester's Violet / Sample of detailed instruction
We have also been testing the scripting on Tabletop Simulator. Some minor bugs have been worked out and we've been able to play quite a lot of games without problems. We will soon be able to test installation steps. Mostly, the digital version is just waiting for the final files to be sent off so we can make sure all of the graphical assets are fully up-to-date.
Completion Goal
Our expectation is that by the next update, our work on the game will be complete and fully delivered to the manufacturer. From there we'll be able to get our proofs done and dimension information to our fulfillment partners. We appreciate your patience as we turn this corner into the last few legs of the journey.

June Update: Reworked Instructions

Game Status
While we were just out of reach of the upgraded instruction manual goal during the campaign, we still put a lot of thought into where we were with our vision and how to best execute on that vision. From the beginning, we wanted every player to have their own rulesheet so players wouldn't have to fight over the instruction manual to check how their character works. Additionally, we wanted the character manuals to double as their own small reminder sheets for quick reference.
The design we've worked with until now was a foldable sheet. It was very effective for demos. As we worked on updating these sheets with the final imagery, we felt we needed more visual examples to help explain concepts and avoid confusion. With our single sheet, we found our space too limited. We came to the decision to change from a foldable sheet to a booklet. This has given us a lot more room. We finished the layout for the redesign (text finalized and image ideas solidified) in mid-May but did not anticipate how much effort it would take to complete the graphical design for these changes.
The bad news is we are a little behind schedule now. The good news is we are still making progress and we feel that the end result is well worth it. We hope you feel the same. Here is a side-by-side of the previous and current Roy instructions.
The new layout gives us four more pages to work with. This allows us to use bigger, more helpful images. We can use more descriptive language and examples where necessary. And for simpler characters, we can throw in some extra art in space that's not needed. We are mostly done with these redesigns. Once completed, they are the final pieces we need to send to get production underway.
Digital Updates
On the side, progress has also continued on our digital rewards. Four of the six amigurumi patterns have fully completed their reworks and the final two should be completed soon. We have sent the patterns to be tested by someone without any help from us to verify everything works as intended. The tester has completed Cam and Sarı successfully and has begun Sunil, so things are looking great.
Tester's finished Sarı with Cam in the background
For the Tabletop Simulator version, the scripting is complete which will fully automate setting up the game. It will also automatically draw at the end of a player's turn based on their character rules. The file system is in place and all that should be needed is the most up-to-date artwork and a bit of snap-point adjustments based on that artwork. This task will be on hold while art and design work are completed for the manuals.
As Always...
Thank you so much for your support. We are doing all we can to keep to our schedule, but we also want to make sure to do the best we can. We are forgoing all conventions this year to give this our full focus. We hope to meet you at some again next year and play your copy with you!

May Update! Next Steps.

Where we are...
We're happy to announce that we've turned in all files with the exception of the instructions. This will let the manufacturer get a head start while we apply our final art to the manuals. It also gives us a little more time for proof-reading and validation. Our manufacturer has in turn produced digital proofs which we have gone back and forth on to ensure everything is set up properly. Once all this is sorted out, we'll be in production! We're extremely excited and hope you are too!
Here's a look at one of the tuck boxes from the proof!
What's next...
I know several of you out there are hoping to get your hands on the digital rewards. Now that the work for the physical game is essentially done we've been able to turn out attention to the crochet patterns and the Tabletop Simulator version. We've made a final pass through the first few patterns and have given them to someone to test out. If they report they're able to craft each one, we'll be confident that the instructions are solid and we'll package them up for delivery.
We have been playtesting in the Tabletop Simulator version for a while, but using the older, now outdated graphics. The process to put in the new graphics is underway, as well as updating some scripting to deal with some changes that happened. I'm also making sure I'm hosting all of the assets. As a regular TTS player, I've seen many Workshop projects break over time and I want to make sure there are no external dependencies that could cause a similar problem.
As always...
Thanks for your support. Amoebunnies has been a long time in the making and we can't believe that it's almost done-done. Who are you most excited to try in your first game?
See you again soon!

Amoebunny April Progress and News!

Let's start with the fun stuff!
Manufacturing Progress
We've sent the vast majority of our files to the manufacturer, and they've been a great partner in helping us get everything perfect. They're working with us to finalize our punchboards and design our custom inlay to house the tuck boxes earned from the stretch goals. We couldn't be more pleased with our choice.
We've had our manual proofread and will be making a few additional edits for correctness and clarity. We've also made the decision to replace the folding character sheets with booklets. This gives us more space to add visual examples for the explanations, which should make understanding that much easier.
The final bits are just finishing the design of the back of the expansion box and adding a couple of extra fun things for you to find.
And the less fun bit...
The Tariff Situation
In February's update, we mentioned that if the tariffs on Chinese imports to the US stood, we would absorb those costs. Unfortunately, they are now much worse. We have been investigating many options for handling the situation. The good news is that the cost doesn't get paid until product arrives in the US, which is still several months away. Hopefully (fingers crossed) this will all blow over by the time we're ready to put copies on a boat.
However, we have to plan for current and possibly worse tariff levels. Should this be the case, US backers will have a charge added in the pledge manager based on their pledge. We will continue to make every effort to keep these costs as low as possible.
Thank You for Supporting Us
The Amoebunnies are very special to us and we hope they are for you too. We’re getting closer every day to bringing them to life. Thank you again for your patience, your encouragement, and your belief in this little jelly adventure. We'll have more updates soon as we move into the next stages of production!
