Production Progress & Sneak Peeks

We’ve begun sending final game files to our manufacturer and are now working closely with their team to make sure everything meets their production standards. As the files are being sent, we're taking a very close look at the instructions -- both the main manual and the individual sheets, to see if we can expand them to make room for more helpful graphics. 

We’re also excited to share a sneak peek at two exciting visuals: the expansion box cover and a preview of some of the upgraded character cards that the many of you have selected.

We're thrilled how the new characters came together and think they fit perfectly with the main cast. Some of our playtesters can't get enough! We hope you love them as much as we do.

The cards on the left of each pair are the ones included by default in each game. On the right are the designs for the foil cards for those who selected that addon or participated in our pre-campaign event.

Digital Rewards

Once the files are sent, it'll give us the opportunity to get back to work on the digital rewards. Sandy has been taking a break from crocheting to work on writing lore and designing/editing the rule books. She's just purchased a bunch more purple yarn for the massive amount of Violet's ordered though. After everything is complete, she'll note any tweaks to the patterns that she's made and prep them for release.

As for the Tabletop Simulator version of the game, after Darcy has completed all of the file transfers to the manufacturer, she will send them over to Jaime who will begin to replace the current outdated version. Scripting for the game is essentially complete and changes should only be required for the graphics and snap points that are moving due to the changed graphics.

Once both of these are complete, we'll test the distribution method BackerKit offers to see if that's the optimal way to send these rewards out. We're likely still at least a few months away though as any task to get the physical game moving will take priority.

Quick Reminders

You still have plenty of time, but if you haven't filled out your survey yet it would be helpful if you did so. We're at 92% complete and all but one of the amigurumis have been accounted for.

If you need to make any changes to your order or information, you may do so until orders are locked, which won't be for a while.

We have 3 people who still are showing their Apple email. If you used that, you will not be getting your survey or updates from BackerKit. Please let us know what to replace your email with so you can fill out your information.

Production Update & Tariff Considerations

Hello everyone!

We’re back with another update as we move into the next phase of production. The campaign has been progressing smoothly, and we’re excited to share where we stand.

Production Progress

We’ve reached our deadline for new artwork, and everything is coming together beautifully. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be finalizing the game files and preparing to send them to our manufacturer. We anticipate that by next month’s update, all files will be submitted, officially kicking off the production process!

As part of this update, we’re excited to share some new visuals, including the inside-of-the-box artwork, which was unlocked as a stretch goal, as well as some refinements to the character boards. These improvements are the result of your support, and we’re thrilled with how everything is shaping up!

Tariff Considerations

We are aware of the recent 10% tariff increase on goods from China and want to assure backers that we’ve been closely monitoring the situation. Here’s what this means for fulfillment:

• Non-North American backers: Your copies will be shipped through our UK-based fulfillment partner and should be unaffected by the tariff.
• U.S. backers: We are currently absorbing the cost of the tariff rather than passing it along. As long as no further increases occur, this will not impact pricing for backers.
• Canadian backers: We are still evaluating whether shipments will be handled via the U.S. or if a more direct solution makes sense. We’ll provide an update if any changes arise.

If there are any further developments regarding shipping or costs, we’ll keep you informed.

Surveys & Staying Connected

If you haven’t filled out your BackerKit survey yet, there’s still plenty of time. Surveys won’t be locked in until we’re closer to fulfillment, when shipping costs will be collected. That said, if you’d like to get it out of the way, you can check your BackerKit email for the link or reach out to us if you need assistance.

Art & Expansion Progress Update! Amigurumis Everywhere!

Happy New Year, we hope you all had a fantastic holiday season and are excited for the year to come. 

Art Progress

Darcy is going over all of the artwork and bringing it up to date with our latest styles. This will include upgrades to most things from the instruction manual to the player boards, tokens and character sheets. Our target is to have all artwork completed by this time next month when we'll begin sending files to the manufacturer. 

Here's a sample of the newer versions of the character boards. We've made some adjustments to help with what have been confusing visuals in the past. Hopefully the new art will be more intuitive and charming.

The Expansion Gets Personality

The components for the expansion characters have been minimalist to this point as we had only had time to test mechanics previously. Now we've finally had the chance to bring them up to par with the main cast. We're not quite ready to share the final state of their board yet, but we are pleased to share a sneak peek at what the full Melaina and the Mistfits band looks like!

Lore bits are in progress so stay tuned to learn more about Melaina or the rest of the new bunnies!

Pledge Manager Going Strong

Thanks to everyone who has completed their survey. We're already 88% complete which gives us a huge head start. I've been able to pass along numbers to our distribution partners and we're working on strategies to provide the best service we can. We also received almost all of the requests for amigurumi bunnies. Basically each bunny got requested 5 times except Violet who has over 15! Sandy's been hard at work making them for you and has already completed five of each.

Pledge Manager and Survey coming soon!

We're happy to announce our Pledge Manager is opening early!

While we had this slated for February on our timeline, we decided to get it up and running sooner. In the next few days surveys will be sent to a select few. If that all goes well, everyone else should get them next week. The survey is used to collect your shipping address, as well as the selection of bunny for those who got an amigurumi. You'll also be given the opportunity to adjust or add on to your order. 

Those who participated in the pre-campaign will see their free set of upgraded cards and $1 credit added to their pledges. Please check to be sure you see it there and reach out if there are any issues.

Please note: We will not be collecting shipping costs at this time. We will use the information from the surveys to work with our fulfillment partners to make sure we get the lowest costs possible. You will be charged later next year closer to when shipments go out. No payments will be needed for the survey unless you make additions to your order.

Keep up to date

Darcy's working hard on artwork through the holidays. She's been sketching out ideas for the inside cover art, as well as putting together the components for the expansion characters. Keep an eye on our social media (links on our website) if you want to see the works in progress.

Wow! We are so amazed, humbled, honored, and elated with the results of the campaign. Thank you so much for supporting us and loving our little amoebunny friends. We've been wanting to share these characters for so long and are ecstatic that we'll be able to. Thanks to your help we'll be sending our bunny friends on adventures all over the world.

What comes next?

Now that the campaign is over, we'll be getting to work tidying up loose ends. There's artwork that needs to be done for the expansion. We're already working on getting the survey and pledge manager set up. We'll be updating the campaign here approximately monthly, but if you want more frequent information as we progress, please check out our social medias. You can find links to them all on our website. We have a discord server where you can join the team of your favorite bunny and prove yours is best! You will also be able to ask direct questions there.
